You can play the first level of Doom for free on the PS4 right now
Bethesda offered players to try out Doom for free during E3 week. You could download the demo on the PlayStation Store and play the first level for free.
The demo was supposed to end last week, but due to popular demand, they are extending the demo for another week. Which means if you haven’t tried out Doom, go and get the demo now — it’s a pretty awesome game, especially if you’re into first person shooters.
Doom launched last month on the PS4, PC, and Xbox One and was well received by critics and gamers alike. It’s one of the best looking games on the PS4, and despite the superior image quality, it still manages to run at 1080p and 60 fps.

Xbox One S (slim) confirmed, costs $299 and includes a 4K Blu-ray player
Microsoft has just confirmed the Xbox One S, aka Xbox One Slim. And it’s pretty big news, as the console will retail for just $299, undercutting the PS4 by $50, and supporting 4K content as well.
The Xbox One S not only supports 4K videos from Netflix and Amazon, but has a built-in 4K Blu-ray player. This is big news, as standalone Blu-ray players cost around $200 themselves, meaning that a lot of people interested in 4K Blu-ray will probably step up to an Xbox One console.
The new console also has a 2TB harddrive, which is 4 times as much as the $350 PS4 version has.
It’ll be interesting to see how Sony responds to this. They’ve already said that they will not showcase the PS4.5 Neo at E3. The only other way to counter the Xbox One S will be a price cut, bringing the PS4 down to $299 or even less.
The new Xbox One launches in August worldwide.

Watch Dogs 2 gives players more control [VIDEO]
One of the main complaints about the original Watch Dogs was the lack of control and the brooding, serious tone set by protagonist Aiden Pierce. With the development of Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft is moving away from that seriousness and crafting a game that’s far more whimsical, fun, and free-form than the last.
Just a few moments ago, Ubisoft officially pulled the wraps off the game, giving us our first look at African-America hacker protagonist, Marcus Holloway. One of the first things the reveal video highlighted was the new parkour system. Ubiosoft’s motion capture this time allows Marcus to vault over cover and traverse the new setting of San Francisco in ways that Aiden couldn’t. The new motion capture also let the stunt actors play around with Marcus’ weapon of choice: a pool ball attached to a rope. As lame as that may sound (or cool depending on who you are), the video does the weapon far more justice. You can see Marcus effortlessly swing his weapon and incapacitate enemies without missing a beat. Overall, it looks really good.
Speaking of incapacitating, from the looks of it, players might be able to finish the game without killing anyone. Ubisoft mentioned that players can take a non-lethal approach to the game by using Marcus’ taser, but they didn’t exactly specify whether the tazer would be practical for every encounter.
Hacking has also been reworked, with players able to hack just about everything in the game. People, various vehicles, and certain equipment are hackable in Watch Dogs 2. The reveal video showed Marcus using early-game abilities to hack someone’s cell phone, causing them to look at it as a distraction as well as a later ability that increases the range, allowing Marcus to hack a wider area of people. Players can also use Marcus’ hacking abilities to take full control of Watch Dog 2’s various vehicles like cars, fork lifts, and little robots.
Finally, just like with The Division, Ubisoft is taking a seamless-world approach with Watch Dogs 2, although this one looks to be on a far smaller scale. Here, you can run into a friend, say hello to them, and invite them to join you on a romp through the city, causing mayhem or doing whatever you please.
Watch Dogs 2 will be available on the PS4 on November 15, 2016.

Survey finds most SMB advertisers on Facebook spend less than $50 per month
Found this interesting article regarding the use of Facebook for marketing, and product promotion.
“Survey finds most SMB advertisers on Facebook spend less than $50 per month”
Within the article, it stated:
After awareness, “generating new business” was the second most common “success” SMBs were having on the platform. It’s not entirely clear how this was/is being measured by the businesses.
Other survey data show that many local businesses see Facebook and social media generally as an effective marketing channel. Yet three-quarters of SMBs don’t use any tools to track the performance of their digital marketing.
Alignable found that half of SMBs are exclusively using Facebook’s organic presence and promotional tools. Among the other half that are advertising on Facebook, 61 percent are spending less than $50 per month.
What the article did not say, was success of utilizing Facebook as a promotional platform.

High Cost of Rabbit Meat
I was in the local grocery store (not Walmart) and was surprised to see rabbit meat for sale.
Preppers and Homesteaders lean toward raising rabbits for meat.
Rabbits, Chickens, and small goats are the primary livestock for most.
I touched on this in my article, 5 Best Skill Sites for the Prepper, commenting on the manure being an excellent fertilizer and requiring little attention in rasing them.
Recently the House repealed a law that required red meat labels to identify the origins. This was done in 2015. This means, the store purchased meat is a crap shoot on where it came from. We were already concerned with the GMO’s and use of Antibiotics in livestock rising.
Most buyers expect the meat or other items to be safe for consumption. Few think beyond the grocery aisle where the food comes from, or how it gets there.
FSIS provides a list of recalls, helping the consumer be informed. Yet how many keep an eye on this, much less know about it?
026-2016 Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods Recalls Ready-To-Eat Turkey, Pork, And Beef Products Due To Possible Foreign Matter Contamination
The quality of our food intake has already plummeted, with fast food and quick microwave meals. The diligent consumer becomes hampered more with the removal of proper labeling. The fight to label GMO’s continues, and now source labels have been removed. Is it a wonder more and more families are wakign up and converting back to
their grandparents methods of raising their own livestock?
As I was making my way to the item I went in for at the store, the Rabbit meat sign stopped me.
3.99 per pound for Rabbit meat. Quite the delicacy, considering a good steak is the same.
So while many continue to purchase their meats, having no idea where it came from, preppers and homesteaders are eating fine.

WhatsApp Making Waves
As the Federal Government (IE: Big Brother) continues to hammer away any form of privacy,
WhatsApp is making waves.
What is WhatsApp?
By the websites defintion:
“WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia and yes, those phones can all message each other! Because WhatsApp Messenger uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, there is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends.”
“In addition to basic messaging WhatsApp users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages.”
So what’s different with WhatsApp, and why the waves?
“End-to-end encryption is available when you and the people you message are on the latest versions of WhatsApp.”
This means all the messages, photos, other media sent from one user to another (with the latest version) is secure. Your privacy is safe. Think about that for a moment.
Recently the FBI is forcing Apple to create software to hack into their own system. Source:
“This is not a case about one isolated iPhone,” writes Apple attorney Marc Zwillinger in today’s brief. “Rather, this case is about the Department of Justice and the FBI seeking through the courts a dangerous power that Congress and the American people have withheld: the ability to force companies like Apple to undermine the basic security and privacy interests of hundreds of millions of individuals around the globe.”
During the fight in the courts, FBI then admits it has already hacked the phone.Source:
Whoops.
My thought? They have always had the method and means. They just wanted Apple to play along with creating a backdoor, publicly.
Now with the knowledge of the Federal Government’s ability to hack I-phones, one more privacy has been lost to America.
Which brings us back to WhatsApp.
With end to end encryption, the idea is no weak spots for the Federal Government or 3rd party to intercept your messages. This would give WhatsApp billion users the security and freedom in knowing a would be hacker is not eavesdropping.
To verify that a chat is end-to-end encrypted in WhatsApp:
- Open the chat.
- Tap on the name of the contact or group to open the contact info/group info screen.
- Tap Encryption to view the QR code and 60-digit number.
Hearing this, I had to try it out myself. The app is free, through the smartphone.
According to WhatsApp Encryption Overview…
“Once a session has been established, clients exchange messages
that are protected with a Message Key using AES256 in CBC
mode for encryption and HMAC-SHA256 for authentication.
The Message Key changes for each message transmitted,
and is ephemeral, such that the Message Key used to
encrypt a message cannot be reconstructed from the session
state after a message has been transmitted or received.”
This means each message a new unique encryption is provided, making it more difficult to crack.
“The Message Key is derived from a sender’s Chain Key that
‘ratchets’ forward with every message sent. Additionally, a new ECDH
agreement is performed with each message roundtrip to create a new
Chain Key. This provides forward secrecy through the combination
of both an immediate “hash ratchet” and a round trip ‘DH ratchet’.”
In other words, a pretty good method to keep your conversation to you and your desired audience only.
